Over the past year, we've eased into a Sunday morning tradition that shapes much of the day. After 9:00 a.m. mass, we have a special, big breakfast. It's so large and late that we skip lunch and compensate with an early family dinner. Even though I usually make more elaborate meals, the day feels more relaxed to me without that midday kitchen cleanup. So what makes breakfast special here? Something hearty, in the form of deluxe eggs (new post!) or sausage casserole. And something sweet, like cinnamon rolls (hardly ever, to be honest) or some kind of coffeecake (like jam crumb cake new post!). We relax around the table together (hardly ever on other mornings) with our food, coffee, the paper, etc. It's a relaxing start to our day.
