I've taken care of plenty of paperwork over the past several days. It would be more impressive if some of these items hadn't been on my list for months, but here goes:
- I ordered the few new school books we'll need this year, for science, writing, and Latin. We've homeschooled long enough to have a stockpile of materials, making our yearly investment smaller as time goes by.
- I registered Marianna for Irish dance (still need to order hard shoes). I sent emails trying to find out why Joe's orchestra registration check hasn't been cashed (more follow up required). I still need to register for CCD (we use our parish's "home taught" option).
- I dropped off the paperwork needed to order papal blessings for my parents' and in-laws' 50th wedding anniversaries. This is usually done through your parish or diocesan office and (I've been told) takes about 3 months. I'm not spilling secrets by writing here; my in-laws don't have internet access and my parents already know.
A few years ago I also did #3 for my parent's 50th. It is very rewarding and didn't take as long as expected. Finding the right frame seemed more difficult!!LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I'm looking forward to the day we won't have to order as many school books each year. What a great idea for #3! I'll have to keep that in mind for my parents in a few years. My dad did receive one for the 25th anniversary of his diaconate ordination.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting from SCRATCH in my homeschooling. I'm ordering books here and there and praying we like them!! It's nice to see each year it could get easier!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that. I could use ANY tips on my homeschool blog...
How cool about the papal blessings. I should do that for my parent's - they are older and won't make it to their 50th, so I should do an earlier one. Do they do them for earlier ones?
Great week! Love #3. we have one from JPII for our wedding. I would love one from Benedict for our 25th in three years. Now if I can just remember to do it! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week!
